6th Annual Run

The 5th Annual Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski, II Memorial Run/Walk was held on November 7, 2010 at the PNC Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ. This year was the 5th Anniversary of Dennis' death. A special tribute was paid to Dennis by the reading of his last letter home by his mother, after which Dennis' favorite song, An American Soldier, was played.

All veterans and active duty servicemen/women were then called to the front of the podium while Proud To Be An American, was sung by the Rock'nRoll Chorus where they were presented with a special Honor Coin from the foundation. There was hardly a dry eye at the event. Many Vietnam Vets thanked the committee for the gift and the honor and said, "This is the first time that anyone has ever thanked me for my service."

Dennis' friend, Capt. Brian J. Kraemer, gave a very personal talk about his friend and his service to our country and asked everyone there to try to be more like Dennis, who certainly influenced his life.

We are pleased to announce that on November 13, 2011, we will be hosting the 6th Annual Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski, II Memorial Run/Walk at the PNC Arts Center, Holmdel, New Jersey.

Proceeds from the 2010 Run allowed the Fund to donate to the following: The Fisher House; Underwater Warriors, Inc.; Troopers Assisting Troops; Specialist Brendan Marrocco; Thomas Jerome House; LCpl. Colin Pascik; WIA Hunt; Cpl. Rory Hamil; New Jersey's Run For The Fallen; Gold Star Mom Florence McSween. In addition, boxes of supplies have been provided to our troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The 3rd Annual World Tour Run will be held again this year. This run is open to all people who are not in our area but want to participate in this great event. Applications are available for this run on our website.

Being introduced for the first time this year will be the 1st Annual Youth Run, which will be held on November 13, 2011 at the PNC Arts Center. This run will be for 1 mile and is open to youth ages 8-15.

All of this work has been accomplished through the generous support of the public. I am enclosing information regarding the available sponsorship levels with the hope that you would like to be a part of this community project to assist our wounded, improve the morale and offer our continued support of the men and women who serve this nation.

We are also in need of in-kind sponsors to supply water, beverages, bagels, fruit, printing, banners, t-shirts, etc. and would ask that you review this information and commit yourself to supporting such worthy work.
